Privacy Policy

www.swatisjournal.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. There are no user accounts, no registration and no login on this site. The sections below describe every place reader data is handled, in the order you are likely to encounter them.

Comments

When you leave a comment, your name and the comment text are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. No email address and no IP address is stored in that database — it has no column for either. Comments are held for moderation and appear on the site only after review.

Comments carried over from the previous version of this site were imported with names and text only; the email addresses WordPress had collected were deliberately left behind and are not in the new database.

Claps

You can applaud a post. This is a single number stored per post. Nothing about who clapped is recorded.

Newsletter

If you sign up, your email address goes to Buttondown, a third-party email processor. Sign-up is double opt-in: your address is added to the list only after you click a confirmation link sent to your inbox. Read Buttondown’s privacy policy. Every email includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.

Spam protection

The comment and newsletter forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical data — including your IP address — to distinguish readers from bots. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Hosting

This site is served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect against attacks, Cloudflare processes technical request data including your IP address, browser type and the page requested. This happens on every visit, whether or not you comment, clap or subscribe.

Embedded media

Some posts embed a video or audio player hosted by YouTube, Spotify or SoundCloud. Nothing loads from those services until you click to play it. Once loaded, that service can see your IP address and set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy rather than this one.

Ads are served by Ezoic, which sets cookies — only after you have given consent. If you have not consented, no advertising script is loaded at all.

Some posts link to books on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Buying through such a link costs you nothing extra. Pages carrying these links say so.
